Quartz is the queen of crystals! Quartz and other silicates include many of our best-known gemstones; quartzite formations are associated with shamanism and magic; pockets and veins of quartzite are sought out for their association with valuable minerals; and many of our modern gizmos and gadgets utilize the cosmic qualities of quartz. Come learn about the magic behind our planet's most abundant gemstone. This class is BYOQ (bring your own quartz!). Feel free to bring a small but special quartz-related item for show and tell. This class is useful for jewelry-lovers, gemstone enthusiasts, watchmakers, rockhounds, gardeners, ecologists, and holistic health practitioners. April 29th 10am-12pm Michael Rolli is a local gardener & naturalist who leads guided ethnobotany hikes and teaches gardening classes. His experiences in public and private horticulture, ecological restoration, herbalism, and stewarding his own homestead have made him a well-rounded plantsman, eager to share insights about gardening, ecology, and healthy living.
