What is the Realization Process™?
The Realization Process™ is a series of guided embodiment and somatic movement practices designed to guide you in releasing patterns of dissociation.
When we experience difficult events--physically, mentally or emotionally difficult--we often habitually dissociate because the sensations in that moment are so overwhelming and overstimulating. After we return to a safe environment and state of mind, we should return to an embodied state, but we often get stuck dissociated, which causes further separation between mind and body.
After decades of this pattern, many of us end up with chronic illness, pain, mental illness, relationship issues, and trouble connecting with ourselves.
When we dissociate from any emotion, we dissociate from them all, even joy, peace, love, and creativity.
When we dissociate from a part of the body, we lose a depth of contact with all parts.
Through the Realization Process, you can grow through many benchmarks of whole-being health:
-
In the first session, you will experience Embodiment, so that you have a sensation to anchor to.
-
Over time, we work on staying Embodied with the eyes closed.
-
Then, we try to find that same depth of awareness with the eyes opened (many people say this is surprisingly difficult because of how deep the Realization Process guides your awareness of Self.)
-
Next, we work on staying embodied while standing and moving.
-
Lastly, we continue on the lifelong journey of staying embodied with others present and in different locations.
Shelby recommends starting with her online program "Somatic Movement to Access the Power of the Present" as a way to experience and practice the Realization Process. Live sessions are a great way to work on the barriers, blocks, and emotions that may arise from the practices included in the program.
You can also use individual sessions for specific goals: pain relief, chronic illness symptom management, spiritual connection, long-term peacefulness, and even manifestation work.
