Let's get techy!
Pulsed Electromagnetic Field (PEMF) therapy is a gentle way to support your body using low-frequency electromagnetic pulses.
Every cell in your body communicates through electrical signals. PEMF therapy helps to create the conditions where your body's repair and regulation processes can do their work with a little more ease.

The research behind PEMF has grown substantially.
There's over a thousand clinical studies pointing to benefits for pain relief, recovery, and sleep.
The strongest evidence so far centers on musculoskeletal pain and tissue repair. PEMF therapy has shown potential benefits for conditions like bone fractures, chronic low back pain, and osteoarthritis, and has demonstrated benefits for pain by reducing inflammation and improving circulation in soft tissue injuries such as sprains, tendinopathies, and plantar fasciitis.
In one multi-center clinical trial, participants using PEMF therapy saw a 36% reduction in pain compared to a 10% reduction with standard care, and their need for pain medication dropped as well. (https://pmc.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/articles/PMC11914662/)
Emerging research is also looking at PEMF therapy's role in nerve regeneration and cellular energy, though researchers note more clinical trials are needed to confirm long term effects.
At Just Be, PEMF sessions are offered as a complementary support for your body and nervous system, not as a diagnosis or a replacement for medical care.
Clients come to this session for all kinds of reasons:
-
Recovering from physical tension
-
Helping the body settle after a stressful period
-
Adding another layer of care to their self-care rhythm
As with everything we do here, PEMF therapy is one more tool that may support the process your body is already working toward.

The research is growing, but it's still limited.
When we use research to understand new modalities, we need to remember that a lot of variables are at play.
There are many different PEMF devices on the market, each with its own protocols, so a study supporting one specific device and outcome doesn't automatically apply across the board. We chose our device, the Swiss Bionics Omnium1 system, because we value what the current research is showing so far.
That said, if you want to read up on our device and some of the PEMF therapy research that's out there, we've included some links below:
