Service Description
Many posture problems come from habits we don’t even realize we have — sitting at desks, looking down at phones, or holding tension in the body during stress. Over time, these patterns can lead to pain, stiffness, and imbalance. Posture is not only physical; it is also influenced by our emotional state and nervous system. Stress, anxiety, and long periods of mental pressure can cause the body to brace or collapse in subtle ways. When the nervous system stays in a protective state, muscles tighten, breathing becomes shallow, and the body gradually adapts to patterns that pull us out of natural alignment. This session is conducted online, allowing you to find relief in the comfort of your own home. You might be wondering, “Does bodywork actually work online?” Yes—this work translates very well to a virtual setting. I’ll guide you step-by-step and observe your movement so we can adjust posture and exercises together in real time. One of the benefits of working online is that you learn how to support your own body between sessions. Rather than relying on a practitioner to do the work for you, you’ll gain tools and skills you can use anytime tension appears. This helps you build a deeper understanding of your body and creates changes that continue long after the session ends. For the best experience, you’ll want a small space where you can set up a yoga mat on the floor. If getting to the floor is difficult due to pain, stiffness, or postural restrictions, the session can easily be adapted so exercises are done seated in a chair. During the session, we gently retrain the body through myofascial release, posture education, and mindful body awareness. You’ll learn how to recognize your body’s natural alignment and release patterns of tension that contribute to poor posture. Because posture is also connected to the nervous system and emotional patterns, we may incorporate additional tools from my broader approach — including breathwork, nervous system regulation, and holistic guidance — to help the body feel safe enough to release long-held tension. You’ll leave with personalized exercises and practical tools you can continue using at home to support lasting postural change.
