What is Embodiment?
Many of us "live in our heads," overthink constantly, and obsess over worries, anticipated grief, and anything in life that feels "wrong." We put so much pressure on our minds.
We were never meant to live in a prolonged survival state. After an overwhelming moment has passed, you're supposed to drop into your body to release the stuck survival responses comfortably, but in our Western culture, we simply aren't taught how to do this.
Embodiment, similar to Somatic Therapy, connects your busy mind to your wise body through guided movement, awareness of sensations, breathwork, sound, and self-reflection questions. When your mind and body synchronize, you enter into a state of freedom, harmony, and flow. Magic happens!
When your mind and body unite, your nervous system may come out of a prolonged state of fight/flight and into resting/healing where many things can happen including physical relief, emotional peace, and awareness of empowering beliefs.
Movement, breath, and body-awareness together form an anchor for releasing stored survival responses, which can feel liberating, like you're finally free of the emotional weight you've been holding onto for so long, like you can finally move through life with joy, stability, and peace.
