Restore Your Voice
Gentle therapy to release jaw tension, reduce TMJ strain, and restore vocal ease
Service Description
Chronic tension in the jaw, throat, neck, and diaphragm can interfere with how comfortably we speak, breathe, and use our voices. Many people carry stress in these areas without realizing it — through jaw clenching, teeth grinding, vocal strain, or tightness in the throat. Over time, these patterns can contribute to TMJ discomfort, vocal fatigue, restricted breathing, and tension throughout the upper body. In this session, we gently work with the muscles and connective tissues of the jaw, throat, and surrounding structures using laryngeal therapy techniques, body awareness practices, and holistic guidance. The goal is to release tension patterns, improve mobility, and help the voice and jaw feel more free and comfortable. Because the voice and jaw are closely connected to the nervous system and emotional expression, tension in these areas can sometimes reflect emotional patterns the body has been holding. Many people unknowingly store emotions such as stress, frustration, unspoken words, grief, or the pressure to hold everything together in the muscles of the jaw and throat. When these patterns soften, the voice and breath often begin to move more freely. If it feels supportive for you, we can gently explore these emotional patterns using additional techniques from my broader approach, helping the body release deeper layers of tension while maintaining a safe and grounded experience. This session is conducted online, which allows you to learn how to work with your own body in a supportive and guided way. Rather than relying on a practitioner to do the work for you, you’ll learn techniques and tools you can use anytime tension appears. This helps create changes that continue between sessions, giving you more understanding and support for your own body. For the session, you’ll simply need a comfortable chair where you can sit upright. Some techniques may involve gentle work inside the mouth to release tension in the jaw muscles. If you’d like to explore these techniques, it can be helpful to have a medical glove and a small hand towel nearby. These tools are optional and can make certain exercises easier and more comfortable to practice. Clients often report reduced jaw clenching, less throat tension, improved vocal comfort, and a deeper sense of relaxation in the neck and upper body after sessions. Best for: • TMJ discomfort or jaw clenching • teeth grinding or tight jaw muscles • vocal strain or fatigue • throat tension affecting the voice • singers
