Hi Joyful Yogis! I've heard so much feedback from class on Wednesday. "Why does it feel joy-less when I'm working on becoming joy-full?"

You might have noticed that in our Flow for Finding Joy, you didn't feel joyful. Why? I like to talk about this in a symbolic way. Imagine that the barriers we harbor against joy are like an arrow in your shoulder. If you leave it there, it hurts, but it's bearable. If we try to take the arrow out, though... ouch! It hurts to remove barriers. When we work on removing barriers against joy (the energy of physical pain, relationship trauma, attachment issues, etc), then we often feel grief as an immediate sign of healing... it's the arrow being pulled out. But wait for 3 months down the road, after your shoulder wound has healed up completely, and you'll see that you are indeed more joyful! The grief is immediate, and the joy is the result of each cell of your body being woven back together again over time.

What do YOU think? Does this resonate for you? Did you have a joy-less class and a grieving week, but how do you feel today?

As always, what are you looking forward to in class this week? It's a special one, and one of my favorites: CRYSTAL SINGING BOWLS! So that I can use the bowls, I will be using less verbal cues, which means a gentle, restorative class, but I can still include space for vinyasa!

Just wanted to let you know me,my sister and cousin sadly won't be able to make the class this Wednesday due to our work schedules. However we all hope you do another one of these classes at some point! We all would love to experience a singing bowl class! We will see you soon, can't wait!
